Product evaluation - The first and most important step is fully evaluating your idea to see that it has all the traits of a potentially successful product. Tarlow Design can quickly put your product through a thourugh evaluation process that uncovers any “fatal flaws” so you do not waste your valuable time or money on an idea that can not fly. We also offer suggestions on how to overcome the problems we find or to offer suggestions such as unique added features that will make your product even better. 
Patent Search - It is important to know what has been patented in the product category that relates to your product idea. Tarlow Design can perform a patent search for you and prepare a report showing prior art and our assessment of patentability for your product. We can even suggest additional features that might help make your product be more unique and therefore more patentable.
Concept Design - If you have an idea of how your product might work, but are not sure what mechanisms or components will actually do the job, Tarlow Design can help figure out those details in the concept design stage. We can also do concept renderings to show how your product might look in its finished state.
Prototype Construction - Tarlow Design’s up to date prototype shop has all the equipment needed to produce good looking, working prototypes. These include proof of principle models, Appearance models and “looks like, works like” models. We can also get parts made through 3D printing processes that generate parts from CAD drawings.
CAD engineering drawings - We have the most recent version of SolidWorks CAD software. With it we can produce photo realistic renderings as well as detailed engineering drawings so that manufacturers can make the tooling necessary to mold your product.
Patent Preparation - We are not patent attorneys, but legally you are allowed to write your own patent. Tarlow Design can help you with this process by providing patent drawings and other information necessary to complete your patent.
Pre-production prototypes - This is a very finished form of prototype that includes all parts just as they will be made in production. Each part is made from CAD drawings that will ultimately be used for creating the tooling for your product.
Manufacturing Assistance - If you decide to go into business to make and sell your product, Tarlow Design has the manufacturing sources lined up to do the job and deliver the product in the box.
Licensing assistance - If you decide to license your product to a manufacturer and make a royalty on each unit sold, Tarlow Design can help you find a suitable licensee. We do not charge any up front fees for this service, but if successful, will earn a portion of the royalty. You get 70% we get 30%.
Marketing Assistance - In helping hundreds of entreprenures get started over the last 30 years, we have built up valuable contacts in almost all product categories. With our “golden rolodex” we may be able to help put you in touch with just the right people to help launch your product quickly.
